When Opportunity Knocks Fast

In true Prodigy fashion, we barely had time to unpack, landing back in Philadelphia from SXSW with less than twenty-four hours to spare before gearing up again for a vending experience at Diversitech. From March 19th through 21st, 2026, Prodigy Records attended Diversitech, held at Rivers Casino in Philadelphia, a national conference bringing together founders, innovators, and emerging talent shaping the future of tech. For us, it was a chance to bring the XRT back home, connecting with our own city's growing tech and creative community.

Our presence at Diversitech came through Tempest Carter, a prominent figure within Philadelphia's Department of Commerce, who works closely with the city's growing startup and tech ecosystem. She generously donated tickets to founders within her network, and Prodigy Records was fortunate to be one of them.

At the event, I was joined by my marketing coach, Lusayo Mwakatika, who helped with visibility, pitching, and sharpening how we presented the XRT to everyone who stopped by our table. We set up our own table among the founders and startups in attendance, giving us the opportunity to demonstrate the XRT, expand our social media presence, and for the first time, collect direct feedback surveys from users experiencing the prototype. That feedback marked a new milestone for us, real, structured insight from the people interacting with our technology.

Beyond the tech community, Diversitech also gave us the chance to connect with local Philly artists, several of whom stopped by to experience the prototype demonstration firsthand. We exchanged contact information with several of them, opening the door to future conversations about how our technology could support their own music and careers.

A Night Capped Off by Rotimi

The event closed with a live performance by Rotimi. I made a strong attempt to connect with him directly, and while I walked away with contact information for his management team rather than a conversation with him in person, it was a reminder that not every lead lands right away, but putting yourself out there is always worth it.

Looking Ahead

Diversitech reinforced something we already knew, that Philadelphia's tech and creative scenes are deeply connected, and Prodigy Records is right at the intersection of both. Every conversation, every piece of feedback, and even the leads that don't pan out right away are all part of building something lasting.
