Medicine Music II: Neptune XXI Puts Her Trust in Prodigy Records for a First-of-Its-Kind Collaboration

On February 21st 2026, Prodigy Records had the honor of attending the release show for Medicine Music II, the latest album from Neptune XXI, held at Kanvas, a Black-owned event space on Lancaster Avenue in West Philadelphia. This wasn't just an album release, it was a full sensory experience, blending sound, healing, and community in a way that felt like a homecoming.
Neptune XXI is a hip-hop artist with a revolutionary spirit, one who infuses her music with high-vibrational affirmations, ancestral power, healing, and elements of shadow work meant to serve as medicine for her listeners. That intention was woven into every part of the night, from the opening acts that warmed up the room, to Neptune taking the stage as the headliner and walking the audience through every track on Medicine Music II from start to finish.
Prodigy Records hosted our own table at the show,
giving event-goers a hands-on look at a prototype demonstration for our flagship product, the XRT. The night also marked the beginning of a relationship with Neptune XXI, as we explore how our technology can best support artists like her who are [already building in this direction], and she stands out as the kind of artist we're excited to keep learning alongside as we introduce this product to others.
An Artist Ahead of the Curve
Neptune's merchandise table was already stacked with a plethora of ways for fans to take Medicine Music home with them, vinyl, poster prints of the album cover with QR codes linking straight to the music, and miniature medicine bottle models. In addition to what she'd already built out, Prodigy brought a 3D-printed miniature record into the mix, equipped with NFC tags that take fans straight to the album, a small, approachable way for artists like Neptune to start getting comfortable with what emerging technology can do for their brand. Neptune stands out as a prime example of an artist leaning into direct-to-consumer, and it's part of why she's positioned as a leader in the growing shift toward independence in the music industry.
Notable Encounters
Among the connections made that night, Raheem DeVaughn, the Grammy-nominated R&B and soul artist, stopped by and took the time to engage, a moment that showed how far Neptune's music and message are reaching. Prodigy Records also connected with local Philly talent who came out in support, including Kause the Rapper and Sco the Fiery Ram, both artists rooted in the same community Neptune calls home.
